Brain fog elixir

Brain fog and memory issues are symptoms of our times. Ranging from mild to severe these symptoms can be infuriating but they can also be debilitating, and very often they go hand in hand with feelings of depression, anxiety and sadness.

Many people, including health practitioners, put brain fog down to gut or thyroid health but that’s not really what’s going on.

The two main reasons for brain fog are viruses and toxic heavy metals, mostly in combination with one another.

When viruses eat their favourite foods such as toxic heavy metals, pharmaceuticals and other poisons, as well as foods such as dairy, gluten and eggs, they eliminate waste, just like we do. This waste, which is called viral neurotoxins, makes its way into the blood and up to the brain where it weakens neurons (cells within the nervous system that transmit information) and short circuits neurotransmitters (chemical messengers), resulting in brain fog symptoms.

When it comes to heavy metals, the issue here is that they a) feed viruses and b) get trapped in brain tissue where they can start to oxidize and corrode, spreading to other parts of the brain. This can lead to the symptoms of brain fog, as well as memory loss, anxiety, depression, sadness, panic attacks and behavioural issues such ADHD and Autism.

Stress is also a factor to consider with brain fog, as bouts of adrenaline are highly corrosive to neurotransmitter activity, burning out neurotransmitter chemicals and electrolytes. And when there is a poor diet or a diet low in nutrient density alongside a sluggish liver, the ability to produce new neurotransmitters is greatly diminished.

HEALING TOOLS

Central to healing from brain fog and the other symptoms I mentioned above is learning how to clear up your liver. When the liver is toxic and sluggish, it makes everything else in life so challenging. For example, you can spend years doing emotional work but the emotional rollercoaster can continue so long as the liver remains sluggish because your emotional well being is directly related to the health of your liver! But there are tools you can use to heal from brain fog and to alleviate the liver.

1. ELIMINATE HEAVY METALS

The first and most important step for healing brain fog is to start eliminating the heavy metals. 2. LOWER THE VIRAL LOAD

The next step is to lower the viral load because the chances are that if you’re experiencing brain fog, there is some level of viral activity going on, in particular with the Herpetic viruses such as Epstein Barr Virus, shingles or herpes Simplex-1 to name a few. One of the easiest and most effective ways to lower your viral load is to incorporate celery juice on a daily basis and cut out foods such as diary, gluten and eggs, which will keep the viruses replicating.

3. LOWER THE FATS

A third key step is to reduce your overall fat intake, whether from healthy or unhealthy, animal or plant sources. This is such a key step because:

  1. Fat thickens the blood making it difficult to clear out viruses, heavy metals and other poisons

  2. Fat reduces oxygen in the brain (oxygen feeds the brain and heart)

  3. Too much fat prevents glucose from entering the brain where it is needed to heal the brain fog. Remember that the brain runs on glucose not fat. Neurons and neurotransmitters rely on glucose for their functioning, so bringing in plenty of fruit and potatoes, sweet potatoes and squash are key.
